Bio-Medical Engineering Centre (BMEC)

Overview

The Bio-Medical Engineering Centre (BMEC) hosts the Directorate of Bio-Medical Engineering (DBE) through a formal technical agreement with the Ministry of Health (MOH) whereby advanced technical services are provided by a joint team to all MOH hospitals and healthcare centres. The centre also provides technical consultations and training services.

Accreditation & Certification

The BMEC hosts DBE which is certified according to the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and was given the Dubai Award for Excellence in Bio-Medical Engineering.

Our Divisions

Bio-Medical Engineering Project Division

Through a formal technical agreement between the Royal Scientific Society and the Ministry of Health, the Directorate of Medical Engineering provides technical services to 33 hospitals, 677 health centers, and more than 45,000 medical devices, the services include developing the technical specifications of the medical equipment , evaluating tenders, receiving equipment, contract management, all maintenance operations, spare parts inventory management, and assessing healthcare facility needs. Additionally, it offers engineering consultations for hospitals and health centers construction and expansion projects. These services are carried out according to international standards and optimized best practices.

Bio-Medical Engineering Consultations Division

This division provides consultancy services in the field of medical engineering, including conducting technical studies related to projects, needs analysis, capacity building, and training services in the management and maintenance of medical devices. It also offers calibration services for medical equipment and testing instruments, in collaboration with the Jordan  National Metrology Institute.
